As we close out 2020 this week, most of the world’s population will be glad it’s over. A new year brings new optimism and hope for a better world. Yet, for aerosol researchers, this has truly been an interesting year, informing the public about disease transmission, creating “Aerosol Rock-stars”, bringing aerosol research into mainstream studies. This NPR article exemplifies this:

For 2021, can we also be optimistic that the newfound fame of aerosol research will continue to drive necessary investment in this scientific discipline, for bio transmission, but also for other necessary research in climate change, employee health and safety, and others? Also, that new scientific minds become interested and choose to study the biology, chemistry and physics of aerosols, thus growing and enabling our industry further.
